I play an audio promo for our Create South conference, and a song by Chris Yale. I talk about the new MacBook that I’m doing the show on, apologize that things aren’t quite the same when I reach for them and about how I feel like at age 40 I still need adult supervision. I talk about screwing up seeing the Siderunners play live and then play a live Siderunners song. I walk down the well worn hallways of discussing the economy and our scary economic times. I play an unreleased track by the amazing Jill Sobule and mention her interesting album funding project.

The audio on this show is not perfect by a long ways, mostly in the levels. This were just weird enough on new versions of the OS and Quicktime that I had a hard time getting everything the same. By next show I hope to have these kinks worked out.

I play a rocking, honky tonking boogie woogie song from the Two Dollar Pistols; I discuss a sad anniversary; I talk about how my former hero is no longer of any interest to me; I play a song by Viva Voce and collide my world on out of here.

This episode’s egregious error of fact: Viva Voce did not come down my Sub Pop feed, they are in fact on the Amore!Phonics label. I’m really not sure where I got the MP3 from now.

This show is my interview with comedienne, talk show host and all around deep thinker Heather Gold. It’s a long show and it is almost all the talk with Heather, so it’s a little bit of a format breaker. We talk about being an outsider, about the inclusiveness of her comedy and how she breaks the boundary of typical standup in front of a brick wall style. Heather rocks!

This is my wrapup of my experiences at ConvergeSouth 2007. I play a song from the Wigg Report and mention how I have already done this show but was screwed by a faulty flash card. I talk about my experience at the conference, forgetting lots of names along the way. I talk about our proposal for a Myrtle Beach conference, and then play a song by Thacker Dairy Road and ride into the sunset.

The guy’s name I could not remember was Ajit Anthony Prem and the film is “Dear Stranger”. The link below is to where you can watch it online, and I highly recommend it. I think it should have won the fiction, and I voted it as highly as I voted anything but alas, it did not win.
