Sun going Nova?

Here is a gloomy article predicting the death of Sun. Frankly, I could give a damn if Sun goes belly up tomorrow, as long as someone picks up the ball on maintaining the Java APIs. In fact, in some ways things might get better if Java as a whole became an open source project with a looser process for getting things into (and possibly out of) the core APIs.
