Sound and Spirit and URLs

Now that I’m listening to saved episodes of Sound and Spirit, something has struck me very odd. Every week, when Ellen Kushner gives out the URL, she has to speak the non-euphonious tongue-twister “www dot wgbh dot org slash pri slash spirit.” I wondered why not just soundandspirit.org? Then I dug a little and realize that there is a soundandspirit.com, registered by PRI in 1996! However, it has nothing to do with the show and instead points back to the main PRI webpage. What the hell is the deal with that? Why don’t they at least just forward that domain name back to the WGBH S&S page? Makes no sense to me, and they’ve had it like this for 8 years! Damn.
