Fred Runde, the long time host of WREK’s Desoto Hour big band jazz show, has passed away. Here is his obituary. Later today I’ll post some reminisces about the man, who was always extremely good to me and did me the honor when I was a young undergrad at Georgia Tech of considering me his #1 sub for when he couldn’t do the show. I learend a lot about radio from the man, and I will miss him. R.I.P, Fred.
