Bravo…I just spent a terrific 36 minutes listening to your show…met the Siderunners and fell in love….by every definition your show is a total success…fuck itunes and people who use it as the measure of anything worthwhile.
PS a word that is so played and drives me up a wall is “monetize”…it’s how do we monetize?..what business model do we use in order to monetize?…allot of people are losing sight of the fun and freedom involved in podcasting and podcatching.
36 minutes of heaven on my iPod. Congrats on the new sponsor; speaking as a guy who has been known to spend X on a device and 2X on accessories for same, I’m sure I’ll find something out there that I absolutely gotta have.
I also agree with al saiz about “monetize”; the use of that word is the very definition of one of the unwashed pod-a-pundits.
Finally, the Siderunners are the vanilla bean ice cream on the warm apple pie; always brings a smile to my face when you play ‘em.

No wonder its the only Bowie album I ever bought. I mean who would buy more of that CRAP?
My money was much better spent on every Greg Kihn album. I mean, who doesn’t love a good play on words?
I don’t know if you mentioned this in your podcast (I read the blog, don’t listen to the podcast, sorry) but DQE is playing at the Home Park reunion thing this Saturday night at the EARL. Well, it’s not DQE but Grace Braun and Co. There’s a picnic at Home Park proper that afternoon too, reunionizing all the early-90’s folks from that scene. Looking forward to it. Rock!
Brian Eno and David Bowie are are incredibly talented (especially when they work together). I’m not familiar with “Don’t Let Me Down” so I won’t comment on that one.
While 99% of all musicians couldn’t make an original sounding album if their life depended on it, these two make it a point to do so . I don’t like hearing music that is predictable, simple and lame. Experimentation is the key. Why do something that has already been done? I guess like an old comfortable pair of shoes, some people like music to stay the same and are happy to keep music within the confines of a tired boring pitiful has been genre known as rock n’ roll. If you’re into the past stick with it grandma. I’m moving ahead.
