Hi Dave,

A very good first time for video. I love the subtitles!
Just a suggestion, if imovie supports it, you might want to export to plain mpg so that any plain media player can play it.

Does not work with QT 6.5 on Windows XP. Just voice only.

I had the same problem with playing his video as everyone else, but note: VLC (http://videolan.org) will play Apple Quicktime 7 files, and played the video very nicely.

mplayer failed on Linux for me, I’ll try downloading qt7 on a wintendo box and see if that works..

Quicktime 6.5.2 for windows here, comes up with a warning “compressor could not be found”.

I don’t have a good reason for not running v7, I just can’t be bothered upgrading when I never use it except for watching movie trailers

Chris, I went to see if I could pick up another but they were already closed.

All of you who can’t see the video, are you all on Windows? The next one I do, I’ll do the standard codecs and maybe it will work for everyone.

I can’t read it either, mplayer, qt, whatever – can’t find anything here to play it. Get the audio OK, but no video.

What codec is this in?? I can’t seem to play it on my QT (hopefully it’s not that QT7 specific format, b/c I refuse to upgrade because I’d have to pay for a new version of QT Pro (which I got “for free” with Final Cut Pro))

You should be careful with how you use and define ’solderkiddies.’ Normally, ’scriptkiddie’ carries poor connotations. However, the whole idea of MAKE is positive. We want people publishing this sort of tangible HOWTO. I’m not knocking ’solderkiddie,’ we just need to let people know this is a positive thing. We WANT people to be solderkiddies. This sort of emulation is how a lot of people learn.
