Smells of the Fiesta

We’re hosting a party here tomorrow with a Mexican theme, and we’ve been cooking all evening. I made a big ass bowl of pico de gallo, my wife made spanish rice, this weird fruity salsa thing (weird but delicious) and now she’s making gazpacho. The house smells great, lots of cilantro and lime and onion and tomato in the air. We seldom host parties, so after this we’ll probably go into hibernation for a few more years.

Okay, I think you’re going to have to post some recipes after a description like that. ;^)

Sounds just like what the doctor ordered. We have our big barbecue weekend in Taiwan this weekend:Lunar Festival. Friends and family get together and barbecue and look at the full moon. It’ll be nice after a summer of 15 typhoons.

Hi Dave.. Whats this “spanish rice” for you? What comes to mind is a dish called paella (http://flickr.com/photos/90466430@N00/42440342/).

I concur with Baron, recipes are called for. :-)

And to eltarao (El Tarado? LOL, if you say so)

I think he doesn’t mean paella, but yellow rice with some seasonings, maybe some cut up pepper and tomato in it. What you and I probably call everyday “rice”. :-)
