The Upside of Google Juice

If you do a Google search on “evil genius” (even without quotes), I am the #2 hit. A few years ago, the top 50 or more were all about the computer game. Now I’m above all but one of those links.

If you do a Google search on “evil”, I’m the #11 hit – the first one on the second page. But even cooler, in either of these searches you see my logo in the upper left hand of the screen. When did that start?

Update: Now after asking other people, it seems that my logo is only up in the corner for me. What is going on with that?

Your logo appears fine to me (Linux, Firefox).

Darin, I meant that I was seeing the EGC logo on the Google pages. I still am, in fact, seeing it on every result page. I have no idea why. Originally, I thought it was related to searching on “evil genius” but now I don’t know.

      Dave:

I’ve tried it with Solaris/Firefox, Winders/Exploder, Winders/Firefox, MacOSX/Firefox, and MacOSX/Safari. The MSFT stuff was tried from work; I don’t allow ‘em in the house. In all cases, though, I did not see your logo on the Google page. Interesting…

Keep us posted, and stay dry down there.

While you’re googling, do a search on the word “failure”. :-)

On a related powers-of-google-juice note, if you want to quickly access past episodes of the First Crack podcast, just google for “crack” + a number.

I bet dslusher@gmail.com logs in from one specific IP address practically every day. And when **you** search Google, you are doing it as user dslusher@gmail.com. Maybe someone at Google is tipping their hat at you?

I have your logo in both Firefox and IE. IT’s smaller than at your old site though.
