Twangoff

I’m listening to the most recent episode of the Twangoff Podcast. This thing is quickly becoming one of my favorites (thank you, my little AmigoFish.) In episode #5, they play “The Girl I Never Seen” by Bullet Called Life. I’ve heard that song umpteen times, having played it in my own show a few times myself. Every single time I hear it, I get chills. It’s got all the best of your 70’s southern rock schmaltz, prog rock just shy of excess, 60’s Hammond organ groove. It’s just a fantastic song. I thank my brother for playing them first and bringing them to my attention.

And the winners of TwangOff #1 were … The Siderunners. I went out to the Fish, and couldn’t find the show to rate it, so I entered it in “Submit Feed”. It is a great show; I especially like the segments from their “Homegrown Series”; CDs of that are available at the TwangOff store.

If my wiki entry has nothing on it but “Discovered Bullet Called Life for the podosphere” and “has got some cute chirren”, I could die a happy man.

Kudos to JS for BCL for Psphere and for your beautiful children and for KN blogging about Twangoff where I learned about it. It vibes well with my Pandora Lonesome Fugitive station very well.

Hey if you liked the twangoff podcast you will most likely like my friends band the Psychobilly Kadillaks. They played in last years twangoff, before they had a podcast. http://www.psychobillykadillaks.com and they are podcast friendly band as they appeared on my podcast back in November of 2004.

You know, James? You’re absolutely right. You got some cute “chirren”.

And I’ve actually heard people down south say “chirren” instead of “children”. My ex-wife’s family is from very rural Southwest Georgia (out there near Columbus, AL) and they talk even more funny than y’all in SC do!
