I took this dumb test and came out 0% Midwestern. As a kid from Nebraska and Kansas, I call BS on this.

      At least they got the right country for you. I’m from England and they got me as 40% general American English, 20% Yankee. What an awfully rubbish test!

      I agree it’s pretty bad. My breakdown went 60, 30, 5, 5, 0. Which is nutty. I’ve only ever lived in the Midwest and South and I’ve about gotten to the point where I can’t even hide my Southern accent if I want to. I used to be pretty good at imitating other accents, but now the Southern one is too dominate.

      So I’m with you, BS.

      Nothing personal, but it helps to be dumb… the more well-read, traveled, and educated you are, the less likely a speech pattern will register. If you try hard enough (professional coaching certainly helps), you can sound like anything you want.

      Yes, it is inaccurate though I found it got mine quite close.
      I found it a fun little diversion.

      Interesting…I’ve lived in the East and the Midwest - not sure where the 10% Dixie comes from…maybe from excessive “Dukes of Hazzard” watching as a kid? ;)

      I must concur… having spent the first 29 years of my life in Illinios and Minnesota, I can’t rightly see how I am 0% Midwestern… is it really that 5 years in California will do that to you?

      It’s definitely a dumb POS quiz. Whomever wrote this has no clue what they’re doing and are probably just guessing.
