Well Dave, I'll bite. I've been kicking around 43 Folders and Lifehacker for a while and been reading bits and bobs about GTD, but all the talk put me off doing anything about it (kind of like seeing "Titanic", y'know?).

So I picked up my copy today after reading your blurb. We'll see how things take.

I started on GTD in January. While you'll probably notice a difference right away, it might take a few months for it to really click for you. Others have mentioned this and I certainly noticed a big difference in the last couple of months. Good luck!

One of those productivity mantras that I learned a loooong time ago: set achievable goals.

And a corrolated truism: the life of an engineer is an endless sequence of 15 minutes tasks :)

Still swearing by the Palm platform ...

I got hooked on GTD a couple of years ago. There's a definite buzz you get when you first start doing it. Tons of little things get taken care of and you don't keep yourself up at night going over everything that needs to be done. You just feel better in general.

Unfortunately, moving back to the South and losing my T-Mobile Sidekick II derailed me. I haven't been able to stay on GTD since. But I still do several of the smaller habits- keeping my email Inbox clean, using a real Inbox to process items, etc. But not having a way of quickly adding items to process while I'm on the go (like I could with the Sidekick) has killed it for me.

You must do your weekly review and keep your next actions list fresh to become "Mind Like Water"!!
