Akismet Under Siege?

I’m getting a lot more comment spam oozing past the filters in the last 12 hours than has been typical over the previous few months. Is something happening with Akismet? I notice that when I mark those things as spam, it’s really slow to submit. I wonder if either via DDOS or just plain old server failure if something has taken their capacity down.

      I was thinking exactly the same thing and a Google search led me to your blog. I’m finding it is taking much, much longer to submit comments than before on some of my sites. Something must be wrong…
