I don't know if you saw the Punk Attitude DVD, but it includes a bonus mini documentary on the LA scene to make up for the lack of info on that scene... what bothers me more and more is that there is so little about what was happening in the heart land... where I grew up, Ann Arbor MI, there was a lot going on (and I wasn't there, too young for it) and I never see anything about that scene or any of the other mid west, south west, northwest (the film Hype! covered it a bit), the south... you get the idea.. anyway, still digging the show..

John, that's not dickish. I have never heard his name spoken, and it wasn't until I was preparing the show notes that I saw the pronunciation guide on his Wikipedia entry, which is as Hugh put it.

Darren, I had a brain fart and since that episode had Leo, Amber and Mike Laz in it I had a lapse and thought everyone was in Toronto. I'm dumb.

Joe, I'll check those shows out. Thanks for the kind words.

Dug the show, as always.

For those of you who would like to learn more about the American hardcore book and documentary I had the pleasure of interviewing James Blush which you can listen to here. Show notes can be found here.

I had a really good time talking to James because it was a reaffirmation of the punk DIY ethics I grew up with. I also played D.O.A.'s “Fucked Up Ronnie” and getting permission to play that song led to an interview with Joey “Shithead” Keithley. When I interviewed Joey my next door neighboor was mowing my lawn but rather than not record the interview I just did it, because that's punk rock.

Not be a dick, because that isn't the way I want to come off, but I thought Sufjan was pronounced soo-fyan. Maybe somebody can help me with this. I have been calling him soo-fyan because that is the way I heard it. Does anybody really know how to pronounce his name?
