Also, Dave...thanks for link to Deliberate Noise. Excellent stuff indeed! Adding it to my podcast list. I was rambling on my podcast this morning riffing off of your open music comments from this episode, and I realized that the more "open music" recommendation podcasts I start listening to, probably the happier I'll be music-wise. *grin* Magnatune also has some pretty good ones, btw.

Dave...I'm a little behind, but this was a kick-ass show! Great feel; you really had a lot of energy. Good stuff. And the "sueage of your...um, you know" comment made me spit coffee. Awesome.

Wow, way behind on responding! Sorry.

Drew, but it is true! I am no Domkus, no matter how hard I try. Glad you got a kick out of it. There are certain people that it is extra credit to try to especially amuse now and then. I'm in bonus!

Eddie, glad you agree!

Derek, It's just one of those things. I didn't hate it, but it didn't rock my world the way Rosie did. Interestingly, apparently Sufjan Stevens and Rosie Thomas are frequent collaborators, and I played them on consecutive shows not knowing that.

Garrick, that's not that big of a surprise because your writing and podcasting on the subject informs mine.

Matthew, cool. Good luck with that and glad you are enjoying the Cool Sounds of Today!

Randy, that's a great way to put it. The Music Singularity, and rather than trying to adapt they are trying to get the rules changed to favor their legacy business model. Good look with that, see you on the far side of the event horizon.

Eric, I'm with you all the way. The baby boomers are the most self-congratulatory of all the living generations. It's not a moral judgement though, but just the way it is. The generation born from approximatly 2020 to 2040 will be exactly the same way. Strauss and Howe, baby!

As a boomer, I'd say that the quality of music today is outstanding and the availability of great music is about 1000X what is was back in the day. I may have to work to get music I can play on my podcast, but I'd actually hardly call it work...

Thanks again for another entry in my audio scrapbook. I'm a little surprised that you didn't like the Talley Lambert song as much as I thought you would, but that just means that I have to try harder next time.

Dave, must be something in the memeosphere. Yesterday, I re-read a 18-month old post I wrote on reasons to not use copyrighted music in podcasts. Tonight, I'm listening to you say the same thing much better.

Dave! Great show, thanks for the update on GTD. I've been considering it for a while and can't wait to hear how things go....right now I've just got a list in OmniOutliner a mile long and I've been looking for something that helps on the organization end.

Also, thanks for the links to Rosie Thomas and SubPop's RSS feed...enjoying it right now.

Keep up the great work on the show!

I grew up in the 70,s---the vapor fumes of the 60's and the zenith of corporate rock. I recall two exciting eras of music in my life: the late 70's punk explosion and NOW.

Wanna see the dinosaur bones of that stone-age of corporate music:

The recording industry faces it's singularity!

The lazy Baby Doomers don't care if there is good music out there, they just want to keep telling the kids that they had the more important history than what is going on now..... The truth is that time is catching up with them, and soon they will all be wearing dipper and living in retirement homes staffed by the same kids that they spent so much of their lives putting down..... btw there are reports that WKRP will arrive on DVD in april... keep up the ranting, it makes me feel like I am not alone in getting worked up about this stuff.....
