Free Comic Book Day

I haven’t been to the local comics shop in several months, and I think I’ll head out in a show of solidarity for Free Comic Book Day. While I’m there, I’ll pick up as many issues of the new DC Spirit series that they have, which I hope is all of them since #2.

Every so often I consider dropping the monthly pamphlets forever and only buying collections. It’s not like I am a regular on anything, and will sometimes go years between comic shop visits. Other than Love and Rockets, there is no periodical comic I’m anywhere close to following regularly. I sort of wish I had gone that way with L&R 15 years ago, since eventually everything is collected across all the odd little series.

Update: I did go, did pick up some funny books for free and they did have all the issues of the Spirit. Right on!
