Mary, that's close enough. It's time to embrace some ugly truths, so what the hey.

Mom, glad to hear I was punctual from the beginning.

Mike, I don't feel the same in the physical plant but in ever other way, I think I'm better off and happier now than when I was 20. I think my 40s will be fine. Tony is probably right on this, like he is on most things.

Derek, I had that experience a few years ago at a picnic with my fraternity brothers. I was wondering who all those old men with the same name as my friends came from and where their hair went.

Mark, thanks. If you are 48, do you feel like you've left your 30s?

I think it's funny when people my age (OK, a week younger) start talking about getting old. I wonder how it has happened to them, but not to me. :)

hey lol, tony kahn speak for yourself old man ;)

i'm 48 and i can certainly state that i do not feel like i envisioned 48 would feel like back when i was 18...

actually i'm one of those lucky ones that has never felt nor feared aging - i think much like your mom dave, head and heart remaining ageless - though for me i do notice that aging brings w/ it longer recovery times for my various extreme sports escapades - that unfortunately can't be avoided completely, what aging has taught me is simple - if i try that dangerous thing and blow it, it will hurt and i will need time to recover - so is it worth the risk - normally it is but i do tend go "smaller" w/ each year - yet i still do go, much like eddie - surfer reference - google "eddie would go" ;)

Happy Birthday, Son! You were born a few minutes past noon. I didn't even have to miss lunch. Thanks!

Also, I can testify that even though I claim senior citizen discounts, my head and heart still tell me that I'm middle-aged.
