I read it a few days back, and then sat through a work meeting yesterday that was seemingly designed to prove it's point. Beancounting madness for 53 wasted minutes of my life. So of course I had to go back, re-read, and start ranting about it from my cube. At least I entertain my co-workers...*grin*. Yeah, that article just kinda kicked me in the gut. The threat of terrorism is a easy thing to throw up to people and say we must stop this. It's another to say we are in greater danger of slipping so far behind other countries that we may never get back to a place of leading the world.And not in this might makes right way we have been going. Not just in innovation but respect. The blanket statement of this being a great nation I'm afraid to say doesn't hold up without an * next to it. In saying this am I not a good American? We were once looked at with justified envy around the world. Now I think we are looked at not with pity but with anger.
